Valves

Used to place a variety of valves in a pipe route.

Schema Properties example - Valve

Selecting a fitting from the ribbon panel activates the Place Component settings dialog, where you can manage the schema parameters (DG instance properties). Also, the contextual Placement tab appears on the ribbon, that provides placement settings options for the currently selected fitting.

The generic placement settings, along with the unique set of dimensional and data parameters from the datagroup system provide the core workflow used to accurately position mechanical components within a system.

Valve regulates the flow of liquids by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. Majority valves are driven by changes in pressure or flow that acts against springs or capsules filled with expanding substances. Valve is placed on a run of pipe route to control the make and break the flow. A range of valves available through Valves toolbox includes straight, 3-way, 4-way, angled, air vent, strainer, check valve, butterfly, gate valve, pressure regulating, straight relief, angled relief, pilot operated relief valve and bibs using the ball valve. Valves inheriting precision mechanism to control flow such as Motorized and differential pressure control valves are also available.

Compact flow switches are placed in existing pipes to suitably determine the flow of liquid or gas flowing through piping systems. Differential pressure transmitter on the other hand provides superior flow calculations including fully compensated mass or volume, energy, and totallized flow. These valves share many of the common DataGroup Properties.

Equipment like pressure gauge, thermometer add measurability of physical characteristics of state of flowing substances in HVAC heating and cooling. Pressure gauge determines water capacity for a sprinkler system in terms of water pressure and gallons per minute. Industrial thermometers measure heat of the flowing water and stream in the piping used in HVAC. The Properties are unique to the pressure gauge and easily set.

Notable Properties

Valve Type – Sets valve type to one of the standards among ball, globe, gate, plug or other. The relief vale type sets the valve type either to piston or direct acting type.

Body Type – Upper body of the valve is set to round or hexagonal shape.

Options – Sets the pressure regulating valve design to either one of the options among screw, with cap or pilot .

Connection End Type – The end conditions of ducts are set to flange, male or female connections with full dimensional control by setting the End Type property. Also, the two ends are independent, and may have different connections. For example, the value fl-2;fe-.13 creates a flange at End1 with size 2, and a female connection at End2 with a clearance of .13.

Cell Symbol Name – Sets model cell from cell library to the gauge cell proportionally to extents of device.

Notable Property Options

Manufacturer Catalog – Edits the current Catalog having standard properties assigned to the valve, that had set in the Properties via selecting a catalog name.

Operator Form – Sets Valve Operator Parameters using the operator type to eitherprical or Gear, their mechanism's dimensions and the orientation details.

The list of fittings available in Valve group is compiled in the Plumbing Valve types topic.
